This “New Girl” was the “It Girl” at the Golden Globe Awards for 2014. Zooey Deschanel looked like vintage Hollywood glam in her Oscar de la Renta 2014 collection of pearls. The cute netted crop top filled with pearls made her the catch of the day. The high-low skirt with sparkling embroidery was classic chic and the shoes… we love! Pearls and more pearls are just so glamorous.

Her makeup was flawless and the side swept chignon was the gorgeous style that she needed to remind us of the past Hollywood greats like Rita Hayworth, Grace Kelly and Betty Davis, and Joan Crawford. read more

Pearls are commonly known to compliment more upscale evening pieces or professional clothing like dress suits. They are not commonly associated with casual wear, so I completely understand you inquiry. Pearls can be styled with causal looks like the look above featuring a gray and white striped sweater, dark blue distressed jeans, pink statement cat-eye glasses, a pair of simple white wedge sneaker boots, flower earrings, and a perfect combination of layered rhinestone and pearl bracelets.

This look really works because the pearls are just an accent piece rather than the full focus of the look.
