The Great Gatsby (2013) was a great movie that gained loads of attention due to its awesome casts, storyline, and gorgeous costumes but we at Pearls Only could not help but take some time to honor the jewelry of the movie, with the main focus being the beautiful pearls!

Pearls are very important to the Great Gatsby because without pearls you cannot truly embody the look of the 20s when Flappers were out and about.  This is why costume designer, Catherine Martin, and director, Baz Luhrmann, teamed up with the famous jewelers, Tiffany & Company, to create a line of jewelry so fantastic, that it has its own featured role! It is so necessary to acknowledge the work and research that Catherine and Tiffany had to do to make the movie realistic to the flapper style of the 20s. The photos featured the bride who happens to be a hair and makeup artist by trade, and she is completely adorned in long statement pearl necklaces. She looks absolutely gorgeous and Elizabeth captured every moment perfectly.

Our fashion blog editor, Ms. Elitou enjoyed a wonderful sunny day in Philadelphia wearing black pearls from our Black Label Collection. The Edith Earrings made of sterling silver and freshwater pearls are very delicate and feminine and look great with almost anything.

She also wore the heart-shaped Carlin Pendant that is also a part of the Black Label Collection.The Carlin Pendant is made of 14kt white gold, Japanese Akoya Pearl, and accented with a few diamonds. The dress looked amazing with appropriate matching pearl earrings and classy pinup hair that looks great dark and shiny.

The only thing missing to this effortless look was a brightly colored clutch. That would have really set the theme of the style.
